Do you fancy spending the summer working for one of the most exciting companies in social media strategy and production? At Telegraph Hill we’re looking for the smartest and most creative people to work for our company for the summer – and even stay on with us beyond that!

We’re taking people on for one month’s work experience with the best candidates staying with us for a paid internship. Some of last year’s interns are now full-time members of staff working on some of our biggest projects.

Since starting 2 years ago, Telegraph Hill has been leading the way in social TV production and campaigns for a range of partners including the BBC, Sky and others. We delivered all of the digital content for The Voice for BBC1; two major campaigns for the Radio 1 Breakfast Show and social media strategy for BBC Marketing and Shine Entertainment. We’ve created some massive videos and even delivered our own live show streamed on YouTube and featuring A list celebs. In the past year we’ve filmed with lots of exciting people including Harry Styles, Justin Beiber, the casts of Merlin and Hollyoaks; Nick Grimshaw; The Voice UK coaches and more. More at www.wearetelegraphhill.com

We want people who ‘get it’, understanding how social media is changing the TV industry and want to be part of the revolution. You should have active social media profiles and be able to show your understanding of Telegraph Hill’s area of business and how to deliver the best for our clients.

We’re recruiting in the following areas:

Video Production – You should have experience with shooting and editing preferably using Digital SLR cameras and Premiere or Final Cut. Experience of After Effects and other tools a bonus. You’ll need to show examples of your work.

Design – Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and the ability to make great social media images that people want to share. You’ll need to show examples of your work and what you think a great social media image looks like and why it works.

Social Media Creatives – to research, write and post content for social media campaigns using Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and other platforms. You’ll need to show examples of your work, knowledge of social platforms and examples of social marketing campaigns or TV shows you think are great.

Office and Project Coordination – To help us run the Telegraph Hill office and its projects, from setting up meetings and managing reception, to coordinating logistics around shoots and research around projects.

You’d be working out of our offices in Shoreditch East London which is a lively and exciting area and our offices are a great place to work. We expect people to be full of ideas and creativity but also able to follow a brief; work with our clients (Including some big celebrities) and work really hard. As we’re a small company, everyone is also expected to help around the office too from answering the phone to making tea and looking after the kit.

The month’s work experience would include travel expenses and the internships would be for up to three months and would be fully paid.

If you’re interested contact us at jobs@wearetelegraphhill.com by 5pm on Wednesday 29th May 2013 with a current CV and a covering note on why you like the sound of working at Telegraph Hill. We’d like to interview people in the coming weeks to potentially start in June 2013.

We’ve been working on Nick Grimshaw’s TV show Sweat The Small Stuff on BBC Three. It’s a brand new panel show with Kiss FM duo Rickie and Melvin and Saturdays star Rochelle Humes discussing all those little things that become a big deal in your life.

BBC Brand Marketing tasked us with launching this brand new show on social media, positioning Nick Grimshaw as a BBC Three talent, and initiating the concept of ‘sweating it’. We called on a few famous faces including Union J, Wretch 32 and Gok Wan to help…

Here’s pop finest Little Mix confessing their unique sweats ahead of the show launch…

A truly social launch, the public have adopted the hashtag as a way to talk about what they’re sweating about, and to tweet-along to the show during TX.

#sweatingit trended on Twitter during the first show and super-popular shows such as Celebrity Juice and Eastenders have been sharing the love too.

Oh, and for fans eager to get their hands on The Quiff of Grimmy (without risking a restraining order) we’ve handily made a cut-out-and-quiff too. Either find the link on Grimmy’s very own Twitter or head here for your own!

The first rule of Bump Club? Is to tell everyone. We’ve teamed up with BBC Radio 5 live and to show people that 5 live is not just about sport. It’s also about babies.

Since the beginning of March we’ve been working closely with them to generate discussion and debate about bumps, birth and beyond. Rather than set up separate Bump Club accounts we’ve taken full advantage of the 235,000 people that follow them on Twitter and the 38,000 that like them on Facebook.

So what makes Bump Club social? Well, on Twitter we use the hashtag #BumpClub to reach out to new audiences such as pregnancy communities and we speak to them on Facebook by creating highly shareable content, as well as working closely with the BBC and the production team at Sparklab Productions to create a compelling feedback loop with on-air.

So what is Bump Club? It’s a new programme strand dedicated to that most intimate of personal experiences: pregnancy. And what a better time to launch it, the UK is currently experiencing its largest baby boom in 40 years, with the birth rate expected to peak at 845,000 births this year. That’s a lot of babies and almost a million women. We can only assume the figure for those involved is at least double that, and that’s not to mention all the grans, granddads and kids involved too.

It’s a long build-up – but by late May, when the show moves from its current Tuesday late-night slot to a Sunday morning show fronted by presenter powerhouse duo Colin & Edith, we’ll have a large dedicated community ready to go.

How do you solve a problem like three foxy ladies, all with similar names and similarly outrageous opinions? You give them their own TV show of course! Except The Fox Problem is a show with a difference.

The “3G’s”: Gemma Cairney, Georgie Okell and Georgia L-A are about to give you a new place to Hangout on a Tuesday evening – for 6 weeks from 7.30pm on 12th March. Each Fox hails from a different part of broadcasting land, (think T4, SBTV and Radio 1), and brings unique ideas to a brand new concept.

Telegraph Hill have collaborated with the girls as co-Producers on this exciting new venture that aims to bring something new to broadcasting. We took away the traditional studio and set up our own version on the first floor of East London’s Birdcage pub. We also got rid of the TV, (sort of), in place of a live stream that can be viewed online via a Google+ Hangout.

<img class="wp-image-1919 alignleft" title="The Fox Problem on Google+ Hangouts.
The best part of this celeb-filled party is that you’re all invited. Each week the Foxes will be talking pop, politics, sex, and that’s just for starters. Each week the viewers can join in the conversation through G+, Facebook or Twitter, chatting and voting to save their favourite presenter from a weekly challenge known as The G Spot. More on that soon.

You can also expect some foxy clientele as the girls have enlisted Made in Chelsea’s Ollie Locke as the foxes’ resident barman serving everyone drinks and Stephen Ridley (AKA ‘The Ridler’) serenading the audience with his sweet tunes and singing out live tweets.

<img class="wp-image-1920 alignleft" title="The Fox Problem on Google+ Hangouts.
Photo: © Michelle Wildman

The fun doesn’t have to stop on a Tuesday though as you can keep up with the girls on various social platforms to see how they’re getting on with their weekly challenge.

Telegraph Hill HQ is buzzing with excitement about this new adventure, and look forward to Hanging out with you soon so get involved on your social network of choice, below.

Since our #BreakfastClique campaign launched at the beginning of the January, we’ve watched the views of the music video rise to A MILLION (in under a week, no less) and considered a career in hip-hop, having propelled ‘Clique’ back into the singles charts.

An incredibly successful campaign, we’re pleased to see that weeks on, people are still talking about it on Twitter (following an initial global trend) and the positive comments are still rolling in on YouTube.

We’ve also had tweets of approval from the likes of Conor Maynard and Harry Styles to name a few.

Join the #BreakfastClique and wrap your eyes around ‘the most gangsta music video of all time’. Grimmy’s words, not ours…

We delivered social media strategy and content for Shine entertainment for the 5th Series of Merlin for BBC 1. Continue reading →

The Mission: We were tasked with delivering social media strategy for BBC One’s Merlin series five, making sure it started and ended with a huge positive noise across social media.

We wanted to enhance Merlin’s reputation as a major fantasy player, using powerful content to increase conversation, increase reach and build the community.

We wanted to strengthen ties and increase fan loyalty to cement Merlin Official as the leader of the community and make our message more effective.

The Work: Working closely with Freemantle, Shine and Merlin the Game we created exclusive, shareable, viral content including video interviews, never-before seen behind the scenes pictures, shareable images, gifs and original memes.

We held tweet-alongs and used Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Tumblr to fully engage the community. We ran a countdown to the launch of the show complete with epic Facebook banners which the fans could upload to their own pages. We connected the stars of the show to the fans by asking them to launch fan competitions and record messages for the fan community. Instead of counting down the days until the end of the series, each day we released a treat under the guise of a Merlin Advent Calender so that we could create a buzz and mark down the days to the show’s finale without dwelling on the fact it was going to end. This was crucial to redirect the fans from feeling angry with the show and tuning out.

We encouraged community growth and fan retention by posting user-generated content in galleries.

The Results:

Facebook: Our content resulted in 356,162 likes, 27,673 shares, 33,197 comments and 403,748 people talking about Merlin in just a four week period. In addition to this, the Facebook promoted posts reached 10,201,518 people and were talked about by an additional 403,748. This was a 55% greater reach than expected.

Youtube: Our content received over 400,000 views and 1,500 comments. Six of our videos were the most ever watched videos on the channel. Due to this the total views for the channel rose 153% from 378,199 to 960,000.

Twitter: Our campaign saw a 57% increase in Twitter followers and a reach of over 57m with over 564,000 contributors joining the conversation. All of @MerlinOfficial’s 10 most RT’d tweets came from the Telegraph Hill period of engagement.

You can still check out our epic content here: https://www.facebook.com/MerlinOfficial?fref=ts
