Random

THE MISSION:

To capture a unique Film4 experiment screening the film Random in community venues across the UK.

THE WORK:

When working for Film4 it’s always a great challenge to meet the channel’s incredibly high standards. Visually, our film had to look beautiful, whilst still capturing the reality of the venues in which we were working.

We hired DoP / Camera Operator Tom Swindell who used the Canon 5D and a selection of lenses to give the film a high level of quality and gloss.

We also worked hard to get the contributors to open up and speak honestly about their communities and their reaction to the film. We even got invited to Slider the barber’s wedding.

It’s this combination of camerawork and people skills that combined to make a film both Telegraph Hill and Film4 are really proud of.

THE VENUES:

  • Slider Cuts, Islington.
